Welcome. Early in 2022, I signed a lease on a small retail space at 81 Clark Street in the heart of the West End of Portland Maine. After months of design and construction and repairs, the bakery- meant to evoke the romanticism of a 1930’s French bakery- is finally open. This micro-boulangerie is designed to be an efficient bakery that produces a limited array of delicious, rustic breads + pastry, provides work for a few dedicated bakers and offers a warm and intimate hub for the neighborhood. The space is open so that you can see and smell and hear the sounds of baking. In addition, we mill in-house all of our whole-grain flour from wheat + rye grown in Aroostic County in Maine, so that you can enjoy the full and fresh flavor of these wonderful grains. Many of the things we make are "sourdough", but not all. We also offer coffee, biscotti, granola, exceptional olive oil, a few treats to go with your bread and a revolving selection of incredible wines.
